Look who's been promoted

 

Congratulations are passed to Cadet Allen Harris on his recent promotion to the rank of Corporal.

 

Regional Athletics Competition June 2008

 

Congratulations are passed to Cdt Ryan Lambert on obtaining a Silver Medal in the relay at DCAE Cosford whilst representing Wales and West Region.

 

Wing Athletics Competition May 2008

 

The squadron sent its largest contingent for sometime to the recent Inter-Wing Athletics competition to DCAE Cosford this month, these being Cdt Sgt Provis D, Cdt Cpl Evans K, Cdt Evans K and Cdt Lambert R. Although congratulations must be passed to all out cadets who took part, the squadron takes this opportunity to Congratulate Cdt Sgt Provis for obtaining a bronze medal in the relay race, and a proud achievement for Cdt Lambert R who not only obtained a silver medal but has also been selected to represent Wales and West Region in the up coming Corps Championships. We wish him well in this event.

 

No 1 Welsh Wing Athletics Competition April 2008

 

The No 1 Welsh Wing Inter-Squadron Athletics competition was recently held at the Michael Sobell Sports Centre Aberdare, this is the first time a wing event has been held within Aberdare. A most enjoyable day was had by all the cadets who took part in both track and field events. The squadron itself will now be sending five of its cadets to the Inter-Wing Competition in May (Cdt Sgt Provis D, Cdt Cpl Evans K, Cdt Evans K, Cdt Lambert R and Cdt Harris A).

 

Dining In Night April 2008

 

The squadron held another successful Dining In Night at the Ty Newydd Country Hotel on Saturday April 12th. Honoured guests on this occasion where Group Captain R J Allen (Officer Commanding Wales and West Region) and Wing Commander G W Chapman (Officer Commanding No 1 Welsh Wing).

 

Before the Dining In got underway all guests witnessed the official commemoration of the planting of the tree in recognition of the Royal Air Force celebrating 90 years of service. (Pictures to follow)

 

Confirmation of Appointment

 

After waiting nearly two years for confirmation of appointment. Civilian Instructor M Kiff has finally received his certificate and arm band, these being presented by Officer Commanding 254 Flt Lt K Fowler. Mr Kiff is hoping to join the uniformed ranks of the Squadron later in the year. The officers of the Squadron would like to thank Mr Kiff for his patience and dedication to duty during this period.
