NO 1 WELSH WING

No 1 Welsh Wing is one of six Wings within the Wales an West Region of the Air Training Corps. 254 (Aberdare) squadron are one of 24 units within No 1 Welsh Wing.

Wing headquarters is located at Ty Walter Gleall GC, Maindy Barracks, Cardiff.

The Wing itself covers a geographical area from Treorchy in the West, Chepstow in the East, Barry in the South, and with the exception of Abergavenny the A465 Heads of the Valleys road in the North.

No 1 Welsh Wing itself is also split into two areas, each having it's own Wing Staff Officers to oversee the smooth running of the squadrons.

All Squadrons from each area participate in area training days every July, events including Drill, First Aid, Aircraft Modelling, Field Cooking and Aircraft Recognition and many more
