SQUADRON LOCATION
254 is located in the village of Aberdare, 20 miles north of the Welsh capital Cardiff. We are one of two Squadrons within the former Cynon Valley County Borough, 1184 (Mountain Ash) Squadron being the other.
The Squadron itself is located at Gadlys Pit Car Park (Top car park behind the Library)

We are one of 26 units within No 1 Welsh Wing, our wing headquarters are located at Maindy Barracks, Cardiff. No 1 Welsh Wing itself covers a geographical area from Treorchy in the West, Chepstow in the East, Barry in the South, and with the exception of Abergavenny the A465 Heads of the Valleys road in the North.
No 1 Welsh Wing itself
is also split into two areas, each having it's own wing staff officers
to oversee the smooth running of the squadrons. All Squadrons from each
area participate in area training days every July, including Drill,
First Aid, Aircraft Modelling, Field Cooking and Aircraft Recognition. |

As well as being part of No 1 Welsh Wing, we are located within the Wales and West region of the Air Cadet Organisation. Our regional headquarters are located at RAF Cosford, near Wolverhampton.
